EF Contract Neocon Showroom 2019

EF Contract’s new products and showroom were inspired by the layers of the city.

“Driven by the people who call it home and visitors alike, the city never sleeps—its layers, new and old, molded by the institutions, the artists, and the innovators. We’re charmed by the city’s grit, that on second glance is beauty.
It’s the taste of a craft brew, the song of a guitar that echoes from a local stage, the peeling posters lining the walls of an alleyway. This is what inspired us to step back and realize—how it’s the collective people inhabiting each city, adding these elements day by day, that slowly build a city’s unique texture, layer upon layer.”

Collaborating with EF Contract’s Susan Curtis, Widgets & Stone designed a simple and striking showroom.

EF Contract Collateral

After helping to launch the new EF Contract identity in 2018, Widgets & Stone has continued to develop brand communications tools for the company. The brand personality has taken shape through a wide variety of print materials: product booklets, inspiration magazines, corporate brochures and special event look books.

Led by Design Director Liz Tapp, the Widgets & Stone team has created a consistent look and feel for the new flooring company that stands out from the competition.

2018 New Collections Book

2018 was EF Contract’s first year as a company and the brand debuted at Neocon, the world’s leading event for the commercial design industry. Along with designing EF Contract’s showroom, Widgets & Stone created a simple overview booklet of their new products.

Like the showroom, the booklet’s theme was inspired by small, everyday moments of delight and discovery. Of Surprising Beauty. Design Director Liz Tapp created a wonderfully pragmatic brochure with elegant touches of rich black paper, metallic silver ink and subtle deboss.

A New Day

EF Contract Rebrand

Engineered Floors, LLC restructured and rebranded the commercial flooring businesses of Bolyu Commercial and Aqua Hospitality, following Engineered Floors’ purchase of the operating assets of the Beaulieu Group.

Bolyu and Aqua has been rebranded as EF Contract and EF Hospitality.

Brad Root, the Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing tapped the creative teams Widgets & Stone and 26 Tools to develop the new brand and communications tools to present to the company and the industry. We created a straightforward and pragmatic identity to reflect the new brand’s personality and the new product’s quality.

EF Contract will offer modular carpet, broadloom carpet, LVT and Kinetex, an advanced textile composite flooring that combines key attributes of carpet with the long-wearing performance characteristics of hard-surface flooring. EF Contract will focus on the low-to mid range of the flooring market.
