Mural for HiFi Clyde’s

After being closed for the better part of 2020 in an effort to control the spread of COVID-19, HiFi Clyde’s has now re-opened for business! Widgets & Stone created a new mural design for the restaurant to give a fresh look and to encourage unique photo opportunities for patrons.

The Monen Family Restaurant Group asked for an interpretation of vintage tourism postcards, and designer Mark Slawson delivered playful designs that fit the bill. Taylor Monen painted it by hand, so it is perfect for “Greetings from Nashville.”

Sandwiches on the Southside

Kenny’s Identity

Kenny Burnap (long time sous chef at St. John’s restaurant) has worked with Josh and Nancy Carter for many years. They teamed up to cross Market Street and open a new sandwich shop. Kenny combines his expertise in creating cured and artisan meats with fine dining flourishes to create delicious variations on sandwich classics.

Kenny’s Southside Sandwiches offers prime indoor and outdoor seating as well as online ordering in the heart of downtown Chattanooga. Starring Kenny’s house made meats and sides, the menu showcases the best of fresh, local ingredients from the area.

Widgets & Stone collaborated with Kenny and the Carters to create the identity design and necessary restaurant supplies. Widgets also helped to provide some design direction on the interiors and signage for the restaurant. Designer John Le created a series of custom illustrations for various applications.

Easy Is Golden

Menu Design Update

Featured on Art of the Menu, where they wrote “the simple one-color printing gets the job done here thanks to a handsome golden board with a wide and elegant fastener. The logo gets some generous space to look pretty and the typography is minimal and nicely executed.”

Now in Hi-Fi

Logo update for Clyde’s

When the Monen Family Restaurant Group founded Clyde’s in the old Clyde’s Auto Shop building, they simply hoped to make a great local restaurant and bar. But when they saw how popular it was, they decided to transport the concept to other cities (like neighboring Nashville). But in doing so, they found they needed to draw a distinction between their Clyde’s and the well-established Clyde’s Restaurant Group on the east coast. So they changed the name to Hi-Fi Clyde’s.

Since Widgets & Stone had created the original Clyde’s concept (a flexible system based on the existing Clyde’s Auto signage), we were asked to update the logo. So of course we kept it right in line with the brand personality that makes HiFi Clyde’s so awesome.
