Happy Family, Happy Design

A redesign for a trio of sites

Danielle Alvarez Greer is known professionally as “The Happy Family Coach.” She is the co-founder and owner of The Reality Formula for Kids and the Happy Kid Toolkit.

The Reality Formula for Kids is a child-friendly model for conflict resolution that facilitates team building. It positions challenges as growth opportunities, rather than problems. This formula is utilized in the Happy Kid Toolkit, which is a sort of board game: a training tool that provides an opportunity for self-discovery and a solution to the challenging situations that children will inevitably face as they grow.

As Danielle prepared to launch her new Toolkit product, she realized she needed a more unified and functional family of web sites to help her coordinate – and distinguish — her related products and services. Liz Tapp led the comprehensive redesign of all three sites, integrating a variety of videos and tools into Squarespace templates. Keely Hungate of 26 Tools led the messaging strategy and writing for the new sites.

Vision Hospitality Culture Book

Vision Hospitality Group is highly respected hotel management and development company. Their amazing growth in recent years is a testament to their wonderful company culture and great people.

President and CEO Mitch Patel and his team had been working for many months to develop a detailed ‘corporate culture book’ to give to employees. Like many corporate culture books, this one detailed their mission and vision and highlighted comments from partners and associates – in all, the book had a couple hundred pages of content. But Vision only had a couple weeks to design it AND proof it before it had to go to print.

Widgets & Stone worked quickly to develop several options for the overall look and feel of the book, then worked even more quickly to get the book to press in one week. Designers Liz Tapp and Adam Hickman-Ewing worked tirelessly to ensure that the book design maintained a high standard.

Adams Lithography and BindTech binders then produced the high quality hardcover books in short order for a major company event.
