Trade show displays for Grain Craft

Graincraft is America’s largest independent miller of commercial flours. Because the company is made up of three great millers, Grain Craft actually has a 100 year history in the industry.

Along with developing a distinct style for the annual ad campaigns, Widgets & Stone worked within the strict limitations of industry trade shows on exhibits to design displays that reinforced the campaign styles.

Our design team sourced portable packaged booth kits that met industry standards and fit the budget. The striking photography and luminous LED backlighting made the simple structures jump out in the crowded exhibit space. A custom corner desk design crafted by Range Projects helped provide storage and display space.

Communication tools for Grain Craft

Grain Craft has combined the personal service and dependability of three great flour millers into the nation’s largest independent flour milling company. Cereal Food Processors, Milner Milling and PFM united under the Grain Craft name, bringing together three respected companies with rich milling histories dating as far back as 1899.

Although their backgrounds and regions vary, each company shares core values about how to service your needs and how to conduct business the right way. Today, these core values form the very foundation of Grain Craft.

Since Grain Craft was just officially formed in 2014, the company has only recently started to develop a corporate culture to connect the three previously separate companies. Widgets & Stone worked with Grain Craft’s HR department create graphics to communicate these values to employees – through signs, murals, displays, wearables and online assets.

The Next Big Thing: A Million Little Things

Mannington Showroom Neocon 2014

Widgets & Stone directed the full scale redesign of the Mannington Commercial Showroom in the Merchandise Mart in Chicago for the third year in a row. The designs showcase new products in a visually exciting and memorable way, both on the floor and in wall displays.

This year’s showroom design was based on the theme of the “Next Big Thing” being “A Million Little Things” – so displays took the form of thousands of 2-inch squares (covered with Mannington’s products and colors), each making up a single big image. The STYLIST collection drew inspiration from fashion, so a large image of Debbie Harry (photographed by Steven Meisel) was used. The Connected collection drew inspiration from the Brooklyn Bridge; Design Local used an image of one of the three cities participating, Philadelphia; other displays were simple images or even symbols.

The pixel effect proved quite a delight as viewers in person could not always get far enough away to make out the full image. However, as soon as they took out a phone or a camera to photograph it, the image became immediately visible on the digital display screen.
