Link 41 Artisan & Cured Meats
Highway 41 was once a main route between the upper peninsula of Michigan and Miami, running right down Main Street in Chattanooga, part of a revitalized neighborhood that is now called the Southside.
That name found new life in “Link 41,” a shop scheduled that began production of hand-crafted sausages and cured meats in early 2010 on Main Street.
Owners Tom Montague and Trae Moore talked about how it links the past and future as it occupies a site on the old route.
“The food movement is a little of the past, but looking forward to what we should be thinking about,” said cofounder Trae Moore. “We talk about how to link the urban and the rural and how the urban environment affects the rural by consumption of food, which has a huge impact on the environment around us.”
Working with Trae and Tom, we created a brand to reflect the care for the historic craft but also to remain relevant in the present and the future. Tom and Trae’s witty and eclectic personality was able to shine through in the wide variety of materials we designed.
