Travis Hitchcock, Designer
Travis has a two-word mantra: sketch first. He may be living in a digital world, but he’s a material guy – so he starts with paper and pencil because it allows him to see and know every form. And even as those forms come to life on screen, he returns to his sketch pad throughout his process, retracing and refining. It’s no surprise, then, that he’s partial to projects with some level of tangibility: design that will, in one way or another, have an implementation beyond digital – from signage to collateral to T-shirts.
Travis earned his B.F.A. in graphic design from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. While there, his work was included in various exhibitions, including three juried student exhibitions at The Cress Gallery of Art and a solo exhibition titled On Demand at The Apothecary gallery. He also founded The Society of Ink & Paper, a student-run independent publication organization at the university.
